Also Priest's Pseudo Farewell und Downing raus und den Auftritt in Balingen 08 find ich garantiert nicht toll, ABER:
Judas Priest sind wenigstens nicht so in jedermanns Kopf präsent wie ManowaR.

Jeder Heini auf der Straße setzt mich doch mit dem Manowar-gelaber gleich.

Ironischerweise habe ich damals Metallica runtergekickt und Manowar draufgenährt weil ich mich nicht mehr dauern fremdschämen wollt ;-)

Hast ja recht, aber ich war 17 und habe dem MAjonäsen-Johannes noch alles geglaubt! Erbarmen. Ich wollte doch nur ein tougher echter Truest True Warrior aus Wagnerland in der Truesten Trueness-Armee werden (bis ich irgendwann mal gerafft hab wie Panne das geschwafel klingt ging doch Zeit ins Land)...

Nix gegen Wagner!

Abgesehen davon ist doch eher die Frage, ob du deinen Backpatch danach aussuchen solltest, was andere darüber denken. Ein Into Glory Ride Backpatch wird doch nicht uncool, nur weil Manowar bei Stefan Raab rumhampeln und ein St. Anger Backpatch wird dadurch schon mal gar nicht besser.

Es geht ja nicht ausschliesslich drum was andere denken. Aber gerade bei Mainstream-Bands ist's halt immer so ne zweischneidige Sache.

Ich hatte damals so nen dämlichen EMP-Metallica drauf:

War mit 14 oder 15 das erstbeste was EMP hatte und Metallica sind ja eh gut.... Allein für das Design gehört man ja schon geohrfeigt. Ein Kill em All hätt sich wohl bis heute gehalten. Hab halt erst später gemerkt dass dieser Kritzelkratzelstil nicht unbedingt für die Phase steht, die für mich hörrelevant ist.

Mein Backpatch ist ne Erstausgabe vom Kings of Metal. Das ist schon wieder grenzwertig. Wenigstens ist er alt und grob.

Nicht dass ich die Scheibe schlecht finde, aber die ist beim Honk um die Ecke unter umständen auch bekannt. Da wär mir ehrlich gesagt irgendwas undergroundiges als Lieber, da fühlt sich dann keiner verpflichtet mich anzusprechen wie cool Manowar sind und ob ich schon die neue Slipknot gehört habe ;-)

Eieiei, ihr habt Sorgen.

Meine Kutte hat einen Manowar-"Triumph Of Steel"-Rückenaufnäher, und ich hab den bis heute noch nie als "grenzwertig" empfunden. Das war die Zeit, als ich nach gut 4 Jahren des bloßen Metal-Hörens langsam richtig in die Szene eingestiegen bin. Die Manowar-Fixierung war damals zwar schon stark abgeflaut, aber ich wollte damals dokumentieren, welche Band mich zum Metal gebracht hat, und das war eben vier Jahre vorher Manowar, und der Backpatch zeigt halt das Album, das aktuell war, als die Kutte entstand. Da das Album immer noch einer meiner Manowar-Favoriten ist, wird das auch so bleiben, und das verleidet mir kein Joey und kein Metal-Ballermann-Wacken-Publikum.

Ich konnte natürlich nicht widerstehen und hab mich im House of Death nochmal angemeldet und: meine Fresse, da weht ja mittlerweile ein ganz anderer Wind. Vor 1 Jahr hätte Udo sich wahrscheinlich selbst aus dem Forum geworfen und ein dutzend andere gleich mit.

MANOWAR are musicians - they are a band.

WTF in your opinion are musicians supposed to do?

In my opinion they are supposed to go on tour and release albums - because everything else they do is needless.

Manowar played 20 gigs last year and have announced 2 this year so far.

Other bands have played 90 gigs last year and announced over 30 for the first half of 2012.

And yes I wish for the fuckin' record that has been promised for 2009 OVER AND OVER again since that summer night in July 2008.

FFS - I hope the band manages to get back on track this year because they are really losing it and fans.

If Joey was to promote his brother on his personal site I couldn't agree more because fighting for your family is more than honorable.

But like one guy said - this has nothig to do with MANOWAR.

And the worst part for me is quite simple - it doesn't have anything to do with metal because it isn't metal!

Joey's Bruder Mark (scheinbar Maler...) hat auf dem offiziellen Facebook-Profil von Manowar die Fans dazu aufgerufen bei irgendeiner Competition für seine Bilder im Walt-Disney-Stil zu stimmen. Weil Brothers of Metal zusammenhalten müssen und so... Natürlich nicht, um zu gewinnen, sondern nur, um der Welt zu zeigen, dass Manowar-Fans die Besten sind...

Ist halt blöd formuliert, aber das generelle Auffordern ist doch eine typische Sache für soziale Netzwerke, wären die Leute nicht generell mit Manowar so unzufrieden, würde das doch keine Sau kratzen.

Jetzt scheint es wohl offiziell zu sein. Am Gods of Metal Festival wird das neue Album veröffentlicht.

Q: How are MANOWAR doing?

Donnie: We’re doing great! We are having a blast in the studio, I am really happy with my drum sound and with these new songs I can really stretch out and burn.

Joey: Couldn’t be better. We are still so energized from the live shows last year that you can feel this killer energy in the studio coming out of the speakers. It’s amazing.

Q: Why haven't we heard more about the album on Facebook or on your website yet?

Eric: We've simply been so concentrated on working on the material that we literally couldn't be stopped. When you're in the middle of a creative process, or recording, there is simply no good time to take a break.

Q: What is the status on the album?

Joey: We are extremely critical of the songs in every step; I have said before that most of the stuff we reject other bands would consider finished. Finally now we are recording. And then the album goes into mixing and mastering.

Q: When will the album come out?

Karl: We will celebrate the world premiere at Gods Of Metal, Italy on June 21st. This will be our fourth headlining performance there - more than any other band ever - and the perfect place for our album premiere and return to Italy after 10 years!

Q: What can the fans expect of this new MANOWAR album?

Joey: Everything you have ever come to know and love about MANOWAR songs: Face-melting hymns of unity; Crushing and Pounding, Hard and Heavy - basically more of everything, and of course Louder!

Q: What will the title of the album be?

Joey: I would tell you but then I would have to kill you.

Q: Will the album cover feature art from the great Ken Kelly again?

Joey: Are MANOWAR fans the strongest in THE WORLD? Of course! Ken is the man! His paintings capture the spirit of our music perfectly.
