Lynott hat geschrieben:...fantastic choice (for me the best three jt-albums) !!!

I'm still missing a number of the remasters, of which Stormwatch is high on the priority list. Dun Ringill has to be one of my favorite Tull pieces.

Tell us more!!

Just going through the tape archives created over the past 20 years to solidify the arrangements and pick out things I want to keep, while building the new session files. After pilfering tracks from the original second album list for the Beyond album, I also have to decide what will take their places...

now playing:
Naked Sun - Wonderdrug
Saxon - Strong Arm of the Law
UFO - UFO 2 Flying
Max Webster - A Million Vacations

Why?
"Wings..." is an amazing record!!

My opinion exactly! Even the cover version that Arch Enemy did of 'Scream of anger' a few years back can not touch the 'Europe-an' original. And 'Stormwind' is one of my favourite classic hardrocksongs. Ergo: 'Wings of tomorrow' belongs in any decent collection. Nuff said.

'Black Betty' rules! And the video that went with it back in the day ruled, too!

Spinning in the Player of Death his week:

Duncan Browne - The wild places & Streets of fire (2 on 1 as well).
Brilliant pop/rock with a progressive slant (especially on the second album) by a singer-songwriter who, sadly, fell prey to leukemia well in his prime. Songwriting of the highest order in my humble opinion.

Gotham City - The legend of Gotham City
Re-release of all work by these 'early arrivals' on the Scandinavian metal scene (round 1981/'82). Sounds every bit as driven and fresh as the earliest NWOBHM-stuff and has about the same do-it-yourself production standards to match. Songs like 'Borderline' and 'Gotham City' possess character and energy that just kicks ass.

Tokyo Blade - Night of the blade
Classic in my book.

Nevermore - This godless endeavor
Took me a while to get into Warrel's latest voyage into his inner outer space, but it's starting to grow on me. Brilliant: The psalm of Lydia

Yep it does and funny thing this is the only song on the first album worth anything.
About TB I never really got into those guys, but maybe it's worth another go ?

Oh definitely. Their first album is a bit more raw (let's say British sounding) than 'Night of the blade', but I actually prefer that one. The title track alone is worth the price of the cd. A bit like the Ram Jam thing. :)

The Gotham City CD is awesome, though it's not an official release. It seems that there is much more material worth to be pressed on CD. Some demo stuff and live. I hope somebody will do it - in good quality, which is the most important thing.

M.

P.S.: I think there is no joke with Europes "Wings Of Tomorrow". I still need this on CD and I'm not sure if it is still available.

OK then, I might have to get the more raw one :D
