Hey Dustin!

Welcome to the board and cheers from the SACRED METAL-team!!
Cool that you joined us - it's always great to see some musicians hanging out here.... Hope you have fun here!

So - 2004 will see the release of another Katagory V-record or will it be a 2005 release?

Welcome to Germany's very own 'Steel dungeon'!

And speaking of deep, dark things made of metal: will the third album be more in the vein of the first one? Present day just had that particular US metal atmosphere to it, completely different from the ANBOR-cd.

Hello everyone!

Thanks for the warm welcome! :)

To answer your questions: Yes, I'm in Katagory V... the bassist to be precise! ;)

The new album, from how the demos sound right now, will be more in the vein of Present Day, but with a bit more thrash influence on some songs and more melodic/hooks on others. Both our earlier albums are definaly diffrent from each other, which was what we wanted at the time, as we didn't want to paint ourselves into a corner sounding the same all the time on each release, and we were trying to develope our own identity. A new breed of Rebellion was a bit of a musical evolution/experiment for us in our progressive metal influneces and sound, and we still see it as a solid heavy metal recording. But, with the new album, we are confident that we have melded both worlds of Katagory V, and plan on using this forumula in the future...

There will defaintly be more straight-ahead true U.S.-style metal songs on the new album, but just like Present Day, there will be progressive tendancies abound as well. :D We didn't realize until after A New Breed... was released, (and were very suprised!), how many German fans we had, and how many of them loved Present Day, so I can gaurantee that the sound/style will return.

I doubt there will be a 2004 release, as we will be recording the album from Spetember through November, and we still need to make sure a label(s) is secured for this one, which we are still negotieting. But, we are indeed shooting for early 2005 for sure!

Music to my ears, both the news about the musical path that KV have decided to follow and the CD you're playing: Tad Morose - now THERE's a vastly underrated band that plays HEAVY metal!!! Modus vivendi is a monster of a record. Regrettably, these guys hardly ever go on tour, due to their, I remember the guitar player or singer remarking in an interview, 'own laziness'.

By the way, yours truly lives in Holland, so you at least have one KV-listener there :)
My KV-favourites are Evil princess, Steel dungeon and One second warning. Which are your own faves to play live?
Cheers,

Oh, absolutely! I LOVE Tad Morose! very underated metal band....
I can't believe I'll be seeing them live in September! I have waited years for this!
I can releate to their comments...we are kind of the same way when it comes to playing live. But more or less, we are a bit picky on the shows we play, which I think might be their motivation as well. It really sucks to travel many miles to play in front of 10 ro 20 people.

You live in Holland? I know a guy up there named Christain Radmaker, he works with Rene (DVS Records) on ProgPower Europe. I have a few other freinds that live up in your neck of the woods as well.... and they all give be shit becasue Heiniken is my favorite beer. :P

Those three songs are everyones favorites off of Present Day, we usualy will always play "Evil Princess" or "One Second Warning" live, Those are definatly our favorites to play on stage. "Call of Midnight" is also another favorite of ours to play live. In fact there have been know on ocassions to speed that song up live on purpose to double-time, which makes it sound like an old-Slayer song. One day we might get that version on tape, it's hilarious!
