Eh... I'm pretty unsure about what "crunchy" is, so I don't know what to come up with. Is it hereby defined that the specific Bay Area sound is to be called "crunchy" while the sound of Destruction and Kreator is supposed to be called differently? What then? Shredding? I'm confused. For me cornflakes are crunchy...

However, I love a lot of Bay Area Thrashers, so I'll just give you the names of my faves from that scene. "Crunchy" or not. Those would most probably be:

- Forbidden (Evil)
- Death Angel
- Heathen
- Exodus
- early Metallica

European bands with a somehow similar approach would be:

- Artillery
- Xentrix
- Angel Dust
- Living Death (...yeah, not really THAT similar...)

Be easy on me if that selection should suck, as I really don't know what to associate with the word "crunchy" in that context.
